The person in this position inspects and monitors the functions of railroad track to assure compliance with Federal Track and Safety standards. Also responsible for track maintenance and repairs, including other train work in the mechanical shop.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Inspect railroad track structure for compliance with railroad policy and federal \/ state regulations
\n\u2022 Detect deviations from federal and state regulations
\n\u2022 Implement remedial action on defects
\n\u2022 Repair or direct crews to repair track structure defects
\n\u2022 Inspect completed work to verify conformance to government regulations
\n\u2022 Prepare inspection reports for management and government compliance
\n\u2022 Know and apply applicable rules, regulations, and policies, or have the ability to learn them.
\n\u2022 Perform special inspections of track structure in times of severe weather or other that may cause damage to the railroad
\n\u2022 Manage other projects and perform other duties as assigned
\nRequired Skills or Experience
\n\u2022At least two years experience in track repairs and related work<\/p>\n
\u2022 Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and temperatures
\n\u2022 Willingness to work flexible schedules and work assignments occasionally<\/p>\n
\u2022 High School diploma or GED
\n\u2022 One to three years of related work experience
\n\u2022 Valid Driver\u2019s License
