Responsibilities

  • The Heber Food Pantry Worker supports daily food pantry and warehouse operations at the Heber Pantry by assisting with food distribution, inventory management, and volunteer coordination
  • Under the direction of the Wasatch Back Programs Manager, this role helps ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming pantry environment for clients, volunteers, and staff
  • The Food Pantry Worker plays a key role in ensuring donated food is handled responsibly, used efficiently, and distributed with dignity while following food safety standards and inventory rotation practices
  • *Essential Duties and Responsibilities: **
  • *Pantry Operations & Food Handling **
  • Performs food pantry tasks necessary to provide food assistance to clients
  • Receives food donations and supports product sorting, stocking pantry shelves and coolers, and proper disposal of waste
  • Follows First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory rotation principles to ensure food quality and safety
  • Culls and monitors produce to maintain appropriate product quality standards
  • Sorts donations and cleans fresh produce
  • Maintains accurate records related to donations, distributions, discards, client logs, and timesheets
  • *Client, Volunteer & Community Support **
  • Assists pantry clients and helps guide them through the pantry in a respectful and supportive manner
  • Coordinates and supports pantry volunteers, including task assignment, basic training, and day-to-day guidance
  • Represents CASFB professionally and courteously with clients, donors, volunteers, partners, and community members
  • *Safety, Cleanliness & Compliance **
  • Works in accordance with all CASFB policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Promotes a safe work environment and follows all safety rules and USDA cleanliness standards
  • Performs routine housekeeping to ensure work areas are organized, clean, safe, and free of clutter
  • Supports food drives and special events as directed, including occasional Saturday shifts
  • Accepts additional assignments as needed to support pantry operations
