Responsibilities

  • This role provides 24/7/365 coverage to the dispatch desk
  • The successful candidate will work a schedule that rotates days and nights, including weekends, holidays, and some overtime
  • Operating and monitoring SCADA system to control all functions of the distribution, substations, hydro generation, natural gas generation, and internal combustion engine generation facilities
  • Preparing daily demand, resource, and purchase/sale requirements
  • Buying and selling power, and scheduling generation in accordance with operating procedures to cover and optimize shift power loads
  • Preparing and reviewing log sheets and information of previous shifts including loads and forecasts, switching arrangements, and plant operating conditions
  • Managing service restoration activities by dispatching and monitoring all emergency utility repair crews
  • Receiving calls from customers regarding service issues
  • Dispatching switching procedures and clearances for system operation and prearranged outages with company and neighboring utility personnel

Duties include:

Minimum Qualifications: graduation from high school, computer proficiency, college level math and some knowledge of the electric utility industry preferred, but not required.
