Job summary
Wasatch County Library is seeking a professional level librarian to perform adult services duties and provide day-to-day public library services. This role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to assist patrons with information technology and circulation tasks.
The position involves supervising staff and volunteers, coordinating outreach and programming, and contributing to collection development and professional development efforts. Evening and weekend work is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, History, Fine Arts, Social Work, or equivalent social science fields.
- Six years of library experience with three years serving in adult services librarianship preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Library Services: provide high-quality customer service, assist patrons with IT and circulation tasks.
- Staffing Supervision: supervise staff and volunteers, training and performance evaluations as needed.
- Outreach & Public Relations: promote library services through various channels and develop outreach.
- Collection Development: supervise selection of adult materials in physical and digital formats within budget.
- Programming: develop and conduct adult-focused library programs, including evening/weekend events.
- Professional Development: maintain professional memberships and participate in relevant workshops and conferences.
